Little Falls...Getting Closer to the End!

Every week brings us closer to the return of the Little Falls staff to the branch and the subsequent internal preparation of the branch for reopening. The refresh work at the branch goes on. The laying of carpet in areas which were previously omitted is finished throughout the building. Furniture for both the upper and lower levels is still arriving.  Miscellaneous “to do” items which are brought to the contractor’s attention are being attended to expeditiously.

The previous stage of the roof replacement work, (see our post from April 7, 2017, "Little Falls, Construction and Refresh Updates") showed the installation of the guttering and the downspouts around the building. That work having been done, the final stage of the roof replacement work, the installation of the roof shingles on the roof surface, is now underway. This work and the installation of the light fixtures around the eaves of the building, when done, will bring the major exterior refresh related work to completion. We are indeed getting closer to the end.

Don’t forget the programming which the branch offers. The Little Falls adult book discussion group, known as the Literary Salon, will meet at the Chevy Chase Library on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 12:00 PM to discuss the book, Bread Givers, by Anzia Yezierska. This will be the third, and final discussion for the spring 2017 series of the Literary Salon, entitled “Immigrants and Refugees.” Copies may still be available for borrowing at the Chevy Chase branch.

The Little Falls Conversation Club continues to meet at the Fourth Presbyterian Church, 5500 River Road, Bethesda, MD, 20816, on Fridays, from 10:15 AM - 12:00 PM.

Check back soon for more news about the refresh activity. And continue to follow our blog! More to come!
